When after the Asia Minor catastrophe in 1922, Grandpa Markar arrived in Greece, in his attempt to survive in a foreign country and make a new beginning, he opened in Piraeus, on Alipedou Street, his first shop selling stoves and American cuisines. Over the years he has dealt with various types of goods such as used furniture and household appliances. After World War II, it turned the business into a second-hand shop. In 1956, his son Agop, wanting to keep the family business alive, opened a store in Monastiraki called Iakovos Second-Hand Shop. There one could find objects from every corner of the world. Antiques, porcelain, glassware, silverware, branded, lighting, Greek traditional jewelry, pocket watches, table clocks, Russian items, ottoman items and much more. As the third generation, Markar Sirapian begins in 1985 to deal with the field of Commerce. Traveling to America, Latin America, Europe and Asia, he seeks to find valuables (antiques, jewelry, watches, silverware …) either at the request of a customer or for the store in Monastiraki. In 2005 he decides to open his own space, which he maintains to this day, in Kolonaki, in the historic shopping center of Tsakalof. Specializing in retail and valuations, we have worked with merchants in New York, Paris, London, Munich, Berlin, Istanbul and many auction houses.
